The online Macmillan
dictionary define the suffix -aholic as :
"used with nouns and verbs to make nouns meaning someone who likes something a lot or who is unable to stop doing something."
"used with nouns and verbs to make nouns meaning someone who likes something a lot or who is unable to stop doing something."
It is used in many way
like :alcoholic, coffeeholic and what I'll speak about workaholic.
A workaholic is
–clearly- a person who is addicted to work. "so it doesn't sound so bad !
he is a good employ/student" you might think , but it isn't at all.
A good employ/student isn't necessarily a
workaholic, a workaholic is a person who:
- works hard but and set impossibly high standards and is beset by a sense of never being good enough.
- have a need to please others forgetting about his/hers own need.
- they don't work well in groups because they think that if they want it done will they have to do it themselves.
- they are controlling.
A workaholic's life
lacks balance and relationship and if they have any they probably neglect And
ignore their partner/kids , they don't care about their own health and they
usually get addicted on caffeine .
Addiction to work usually
accrues in students who need to prove themselves and their families or when
there is difficulties that the person find it better to ignore, it happens a
lot before and after devours, and it usually end up with them stressed and
depressed , in my poor opinion fixing this addiction happens by take a long
term vacation with the people he loves and without feeling guilt and then
making sure he doesn't suffer from unsolved issues and so . or for a better opinion
one should ask his psychologist .
